THE STORY BEHIND DUOMO
With a career background in professional interpreting and translation in Romanian and Italian, I founded Duomo Translations with a view to offer my clients easy access to professional translation in various languages. Having learned the profession inside out over the years, I gradually specialised in translating documents within the context of English law. This has further piqued my interest and curiosity in the field of law, leading to the successful completion of a course of study in law subjects such as Contract, Business, Succession and Property. Consequently, I am able to offer a translation service that has at its core a combination of legal knowledge and translation expertise, which earned the trust of my clients, many of whom are law firms.
Duomo is always striving for high professional standards and ensuring that clients can confidently rely on its translations, whether they are used in Courts across England or presented to private clients.

FOR LAW FIRMS
Many law firms interact daily with clients who have an insufficient command of English, frequently requiring the assistance of a professional interpreter or translator to ensure that important information is accurately conveyed to the client but also to ensure compliance with Court rules. For instance, when filing a witness statement, crucially this should be in the witness's own words.
To fill this communication gap, Duomo can arrange an interpreter to attend at any location in England or remotely and covers most widely spoken languages. Written translation also forms a big part of Duomo's work, engaging professionals at the top of their game who specialise in legal translation.
Below are a few key reasons why law firms instruct Duomo.

Familiarity with English law and/or legal terminology in two languages
In addition to translation qualifications and a vast experience, the translator working on your document is specifically trained and qualified to translate texts of a legal nature, adopting a ''meaning approach'' whilst carefully preserving the original. For some languages, such as French or Romanian, translators also possess a law degree or similar qualification.

Compliance with CPR for certified translations
If you require a certified translation such as in relation to a witness statement, the translation will be compliant with Practice Direction 32 of the Civil Procedure Rules regarding Evidence, namely 23.2 (b).

Confidentiality
The files you send us are treated in the strictest of confidence. Duomo is also registered with the ICO for data protection purposes.

Interpreters are trained to be impartial and strictly adhere to a Code of Conduct
When an interpreter is assigned to a meeting, they will translate your speech accurately, without modifications or insertion of their own opinion and will not take any sides, preserving impartiality.
